Life has certainly a lot of challenges, lessons, and ups and downs that we must embrace. Being able to handle all the different things that happen most of the times turns our emotions and thoughts into a really crazy roller coaster. Well, the reason I am saying this, is because that’s how I’ve felt about my life experiences. This Is my open letter to all those folks, who, just like me, are in the process towards working to achieve a better version and wellbeing.
Why do I say that I am “in the process”? Because the journey to improving our own lifestyle is never ending. We are constantly dealing with our responsibilities, struggles, happiness, the fun, disappointments, etc to keep going. Facing all these challenges while staying motivated and inspired for our goals is certainly not easy. However, I must say that from my own experience, I’ve managed to stay true to my own believes and my purpose in life, by practicing some daily personal thoughts and habits. The idea of sharing my journey with you is to help you find some inspiration into things that you can do to achieve your life purpose. These are aspects that I started including into my daily life.
Reflect on what is your purpose and why are you here for…
I believe this is the toughest part I’ve had to face, since discovering myself took several stages of my life. I started doing different kinds of jobs in order to try to find something that would help me feel “fulfilled”. What I didn’t realize was, that I was just going with the trends. I wasn’t truly following the desires of my heart. I would do all sorts of things or act in certain ways to please people, while losing myself in the process.
So, one day, I decided to reflect on the things I really wanted to achieve and the reasons why. That helped me to refocus and head towards a more productive way. I noticed that I always wanted to help people in many aspects, to change their lives for a better version, in terms of health and wellbeing. I do recommend starting this exercise so you can move on for the better.
“You” are the one that matters, forget about other people’s opinions
We live in a society in which we’ve been convinced to live to other people’s expectations. This is very common with health and beauty. Modern beauty standards have made us fall into a trap in which we must follow a specific pattern. People will always have their own perspectives and something to say about your journey or your life. Remember that the most important part is to feel good about ourselves and that it’s ok not to “fit in”!
Think of the main reasons you want to have a better version, be healthier and happy. For me, this journey means feeling a level of satisfaction with my whole well being, physically and mentally.
Reassure your self worth to get to a better version of yourself
You are great, you are valuable; therefore, you deserve to achieve the best that you can in life! I always have this thought in mind daily when I try to focus on my own happiness. I also remember my purpose and the fact that I can add value to people’s lives. Another example; I often remind my patients who are on a weight loss program, that as long as they know how valuable they are, that they deserve to be healthy and live a better version of life, then they will find the strength and motivation required to keep going for their goals. I recently started my own fitness regime and continue to follow a healthy eating lifestyle, hoping to serve as an example for others.
Practice the skills or hobbies that make you feel happy
This works wonders for me! I always set some time aside to do the things I’m passionate about. Something simple as listening to music or going out for a ride are things that not only keep me in a good mood, but also help me stay motivated. It is easier to achieve better results in life when you are experiencing positive feelings, such as happiness, than when you are in a negative mood or environment. Another rule for me is being close to my loved ones and sharing with them. I found that motivation in life is a key to staying determined about any plans.
Nurture your spiritual senses to achieve a better version
For me, been more connected spiritually has changed my perception of life and made me feel more strengthened. Being healthy includes your body, mind and soul. Being able to have the right mindset through these recent times has increased a level of assertiveness in my decisions, the way how I act and my approach to many circumstances, in general. I advice that you find ways to stay connected in a spiritual level, whether it is by reading the bible, a book, praying, meditating, or even practicing exercise. This definitely changes everything!
Write your better version goals down and keep track of them
I started creating this habit since 2015, and all I can say is how of a blessing this has been to me. At first, I didn’t find much sense in doing this. After some time, though, I understood how this would affect my life for the better. Every end of the year I sit down and write my purposes for the approaching year, like most of you do.
But what has truly made a difference is, I actually keep these posted on my wall in my bedroom. That way, I take a look at them everyday and think of why I work for those goals. By the time midyear strikes, I do a thorough review of the things I’ve achieved so far, and continue focusing on what is still pending to be completed. Has It worked? Absolutely! You have no idea how empowering this is to me! And so, many people have also found value in writing down their purposes, it really has a direct impact on the brain and the power to achieve things.
Considerations…
Hustling towards a better version of life is something that all of us are aiming for. Been truthful about our own desires is where we should start. Keeping a positive and empowering mindset not only benefits our soul wellbeing, but also aids in making our efforts easier for our future plan. The process is not easy, but if you know your purpose is worth it, why give up? Live as much as you can, do the necessary changes to get where you want to go, and just keep pushing! Be thankful always! Let me know your thoughts about this… What is your journey? How have you dealt with the process? Feel free to comment or join our community!
Cheers!
