Now, you can get that zesty feel, enjoy a delicious drink that is healthier and can make you energized. In this post, I created some of my favorite easy mocktails recipes so that you can enjoy that drink without the side effects of alcohol.

Why mocktails?

Simply put, mocktails are like having your favorite cocktail drink, without the alcohol. In other words, a mocktail is a non alcoholic drink: it is a mixed cocktail without the liquor (either eliminated entirely or with a non-alcoholic spirit). Mocktails are the perfect choice for people who are trying to cut down on alcohol, want to have a healthier eating lifestyle or that furthermore have alcohol restrictions.

There are varieties of ways to make a mocktail. Even so, you can create easy mocktails recipes based on classics, from Mojitos to Margaritas, just as a virgin version. Also, you can make a free-form mocktail that comes from your favorite blends. All you need is a few tricks about building your drinks, so that they come out tasting like a real bomb drink, without the alcohol effect! Want to learn more?

Easy mocktails recipes are perfect for:

Women who are pregnant

This is the perfect excuse to get that drink without actually having alcohol. Women who are expecting are occasionally overwhelmed if they attend a party, a cookout or any other celebration. However, this should no longer be the case. Mocktails are the alternative to enjoy that favorite mixed drink!

That designated driver

We’ve all been in that icky situation. Whether we are out with our besties, or simply attending a gathering, we think about who’s gonna be that designated driver. So, if you have to take the wheel after having fun, you can safely skip the alcohol. Going for a mocktail is the best option for you.

People who are trying to lose weight or stay fit

In my previous blog, I did share about how you can sip alcohol in a smart way that doesn’t compromise your health. However, if you’re looking to pass on alcohol altogether, but still want to enjoy a cool drink, mocktails are the go-to here. When it comes to staying fit and healthy, you can still drink alcohol and get in shape, but if you want to avoid it, know that this will help you maintain your weight loss/ fitness journey.

Those who don’t want to get drunk

Sometimes you just don’t feel like drinking. You’re probably not even used to drinking altogether. Or, you hate the feeling that comes after doing too much bottomless mimosas. Whatever your reasons are, it’s good to enjoy yourself from time to time, without thinking about alcohol. You’ll stay sober, you’ll get to enjoy a refreshing blend and overall feel great!

People who don’t want to deal with hungover

Oh, the dreaded hungover! After a certain age, it surely doesn’t do well to be past a number of drinks. If you often feel crappy the next day after having too much alcohol, these easy mocktails recipes are the perfect excuse to try, so you can stay sober. Basically, you won’t have to deal with all the negative effects of being drunk, like headaches, lack of energy, increased sugar cravings, and messed up metabolism.

When you want a refreshing, hydrating drink that adds more nutrition than simple calories

It’s also a good time to think about enjoying a blend that is healthy, tastes great and keeps you hydrated. Fruits, greens, certain herbs and spices are packed with tons of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Also, certain base liquids like coconut water can add electrolytes that will keep your metabolism in check, nourish you and hydrate your body. Who doesn’t want to feel refreshed and energized, especially during the warmer days?

What is the formula to create these easy mocktails recipes?

In this case, since you are skipping the alcohol or replacing it with a non-alcoholic spirit, most mocktails will get that fresh hype by a simple formula. You want to mix four parts base, like club soda or iced tea, with one part sour and one-half part sweet.

It is really more simple than it sounds. How sweet or sour the finished blend is will depend on the type of base you use. For example, tonic water is slightly bitter, while coconut water is somewhat sweet. So, with that formula, you can make all sorts of mocktails.
